Activity: Look at the Statements and decide what are
|You love your job but your boss is making your life miserable.
|A loved one is experiencing a serious health challenge.
|A customer has just made a complaint about your approach in a service situation.
|A few customers have said that you look serious and you make them uncomfortable.Your team member has made a complaint about you and you feel betrayed.
|You recognize you are new and are taking time to catch up with the rest.
|You have been on the job for many years and boredom is creeping in.
|You believe that your salary does not commensurate with the effort you have to put in.
|You are not sure if your present vocation is challenging you enough.
|You think your supervisor has marked you and seems to be treating you unfairly.
Are you able to recognize and understand your circle of influence? This can help reduce stress.
We can actually have at least some influence in every situation. This comes in the form of how we think and what actions we choose to take, we can be in control of our perspective even in times where we can’t act.
Do you have more of an External Locus of Control mindset (Whatever happens on the outside, I can’t do much, it’s everyone else’s fault) or an Internal Locus of Control mindset (I am in control, I take responsibility, I make the decisions)?
