When an event occurs, it is important to be aware of your Thought Process.

The Ladder of Escalation helps us see how an event can escalate into defensive actions when our thoughts, assumptions and conclusions go unchecked. Main lesson is to check assumptions and not jump to conclusions.

Data I Select: Think of an Event that did not go well between you and someone else.

Immediate Thoughts: What were the immediate thoughts that came as a result? We can’t escape these because they are there to help us survive, decide and act on if needed.

My Assumptions, Expectations and Beliefs: There are good / positive assumptions and bad / negative assumptions we could possibly hold about this event

Conclusions I make: The assumptions we hold as true become our conclusions and we then decide it to be our truth?

Actions I Take: We take action based on the conclusions in our mind. If we do not process it enough, we make false conclusions and dreadful actions.
