Having a purpose is necessary to fuel passion which is meant to serve as a long-term goal meant to benefit others rather than one self. We are part of a larger system and that we are inter-dependent in our relationships and we hence accept the fact that “It’s not all about me”. When this realization takes place, we start to embrace a lot of the Principles of EQ.
Many times we try to do too much and too many things, and when we lose our focus, we may not be at our best as we are being pulled in too many directions. This can cause problems to both our health and our effectiveness. E.g. being a spouse, parent, child, sibling, business person, volunteer worker, friend, etc. and not having time for oneself.
